Subjects covered in our Lotus Notes user training:
- An Introduction to Lotus Notes: In this session we talk about the history of Lotus Notes, introduce the Lotus Notes product, outline typical uses of Lotus Notes in organizations, help users discover what they will be achieving by using Lotus Notes and let the users start, navigate around and close the Lotus Notes application.
- Navigating the Notes User Interface: We introduce the user to the Welcome Page, Bookmarks, Windows tabs and switching between windows, Status Bar and important diagnostic information available there, Menus, Toolbars, Right Click options, Notes Workspace, standard views, forms and panes in Notes. By the end of this session the user will be able to move from one area of the Notes client to another and will be comfortable with the functions of the different widgets in the Notes UI>
- Getting Connected: We discuss the client-server concept, different types of servers, how to connect to a Domino server or an Internet mail server. We also briefly cover how to connect to a server from a remote location through dial-up.
- Notes Databases: We dig into the core of the Notes functionality - the Notes Databases. We introduce the different databases typically available in each organization and teach the users how to open and use databases. Users will also learn how to create bookmarks to databases, find unread documents in a database, create a database, search a database etc.
- Printing from Notes: We introduce the users to techniques to print from Notes documents, views, frameset etc. The users learn about setting up a page for printing and choosing the printer to print etc.
- Working with Documents: In this module, the users learn about copying and pasting documents, navigate to unread documents, opening and closing documents, deleting/undeleting documents and editing/formatting Rich Text.
- Working with Mail: Here users learn about mail servers and mail clients, how Notes handles mail to others on the server and to others outside the organization. Users learn about composing new mail, forwarding/replying to messages, Archiving mail, managing address books etc.
- Calendaring and Scheduling: Users learn how to use the Calendar to keep track of meetings, appointments, anniversaries, reminders, and events. They learn how to set up a shared calendar, invite others to a meeting, respond to invitation from others, reserve rooms and resources and manage their calendar.
- Managing the To Do list: Users learn how to use the to do list to manage their tasks and how to assign tasks to others.
- Searching for Information: We teach users about how to search for information in a single databases, across multiple databases, in the domino directory and how to manage their indexes.
- Automating tasks with agents: Users learn about how to automate routine tasks like isolating spam, out-of-office responders etc.
- Advanced topics: These include browsing with Notes, advanced mail/calendaring functions and information on special connectivity options.
