After acquiring the IBM Collaboration Solutions portfolio, HCL has made a major announcement about the launch of HCL Digital Solutions. Titled ‘Live from Tokyo’ the launch event has been scheduled for December 4, 2019, and will be broadcast live from Tokyo starting 9 am EST/3 pm CET. The webcast will cover the launch of HCL Notes, HCL Domino, HCL Sametime v11 and HCL Connections v6.5.

Terming it a ‘historic day’, HCL has announced that the event would “mark the first major product releases for these iconic products under HCL Digital Solutions” and has also promised that the attendees would get to hear latest product features, hear from thought leaders, and find out how to upgrade to the latest versions.

Our Take:

Quite a few organizations were seen migrating away from Notes, Domino and Connections in the recent past.  HCL’s launch could become a game-changer in the industry. With many other organisations still figuring out what to do with their applications, HCL’s new version with clear roadmap brings a choice to stay back on the table.
